Yasmeen Elmezain, Editor-in-Chief
Yasmeen Elmezain is a junior at University City High School and the Editor-in-Chief of The Commander, leading the publication alongside her co–Editor-in-Chief, Rhyan Nisperos. After serving two years as Opinions Editor, she now helps guide the newspaper’s editorial direction, layout, and storytelling. A spoken word poet, public speaker, and community advocate, Yasmeen is passionate about uplifting underrepresented voices and plans to pursue journalism and political science in the future.
