There are many baseless and wacky conspiracy theories out there. Whether it is Aliens or Atlantis, most of these things are just modern-day mythology. However, the conspiracy that somewhere out there is a secret, evil cabal of powerful, shadowy elites has been proven to be mostly true. The only real difference is that this cabal is not exactly a big secret. They are all in the Epstein Files, and many of them are household names. In fact, some are running the country right now. The release of the Epstein Files and subsequent lack of justice have proved that the United States has a two-tiered justice system that is unwilling to prosecute criminal oligarchs.
The release of the files has been concerning and not at all compliant with the law. The complete set of Epstein Files was supposed to be released in December 2025 in accordance with the Epstein Files Transparency Act, yet it was not until January 30, 2026 that the full set was supposedly released. Even still, out of the six million pages of evidence identified by the Department of Justice (DOJ), only 3.5 million have been released (aljazeera.com). The self-proclaimed most transparent administration in history also redacted most documents in a way that made them somehow incompetent, illogical, and illegal all at the same time. Victim information was sometimes not redacted, turning many of their lives upside-down, and many redactions were made with no explanation, despite the full release being a legal requirement for every single one by law (redactable.com).
Redactions were supposed to be made to protect victims, but in reality, many protected the perpetrators. According to NBC News, “The Department of Justice has not released summaries and notes from three separate interviews the FBI conducted with a South Carolina woman who alleged she was a sexual assault victim of Jeffrey Epstein and also made sexual abuse allegations against President Donald Trump” (nbcnews.com). The handling and release of the files was clearly done in a way that is maliciously incompetent and protective of these despicable predators.
Now, even with all of the issues surrounding the release of information that has been made available from the Epstein Files, enough has still surely come out to warrant investigations of the people involved, right? It has in other countries, at least. According to NBC News, “At least nine investigations have begun in eight countries and within the European Union’s anti-fraud unit” (nbcnews.com). In the United States, though? Nothing. So far, the only person who has actually faced any charges is Former Epstein Associate and Convicted Child Sex Trafficker Ghislaine Maxwell.
Disregarding prosecution, any regular person, if they were accused of such heinous crimes, would, at the very least, face investigation and intense legal scrutiny for even one of the thousands of heinous acts that are alleged to have been committed. But because it is the people in power, nothing has occurred. According to The New York Times, “Justice Department officials have stated they do not plan to file additional charges related to Mr. Epstein” (nytimes.com). The DOJ is unwilling to bring anyone to trial, most likely out of fear that they will almost certainly implicate members of the Trump administration. The side of the political aisle does not matter. Our justice system allows elites to protect elites, which ensures nobody with enough power or money will get hurt.
