High school memories, the results of these unforgettable four years of life. UC High is known for its fanatic traditions and happy students. Here are the top ten best high school memories that most students will cherish over the years.

10.) Homecoming – Out of all school dances, Homecoming by far holds the crown for most who attend. The treasured dance provides students with an opportunity to dress up and dance the night away. Since the nineteenth century, Missouri’s football game has been claimed to be the first college Homecoming game (mizzou.com).

9.) Pep Rallies – Members of the school’s Associated Student Body work hard to put on outstanding pep rallies. These events are some of the most interactive ones at school. There are many goofy games in which students get to participate, automatically making them more enjoyable.

8.) Football Games – High school football games are among the most memorable after school events one can attend. The stadium stands are filled with students trying to have a good time and rooting for their team. Coordinating an outfit to wear that matches the theme is a crucial aspect of the high school football game pre-ritual, and the feeling after your team has secured a victory is indescribable.

7.) Senior Pranks – Perhaps the most creative high school memory is the senior prank. Every year, seniors have to carefully choose a harmless prank to play on the school. It usually happens before the school day starts, leading to everyone arriving to the unexpected surprise.

6.) Powder Puff – Annually taking place during the spring season, football players dress as the cheerleaders, while senior girls compete against junior girls in an intense flag football game. The cheerleaders usually make up a dance to show school spirit. The seniors have a pretty victorious track record.

Mr. Nguyen’s Backflips – After going viral on TikTok, Nguyen’s signature backflips have made a lasting impression on the school. “I scored one point [at the senior vs. staff game], and I went straight over to the senior section, and I hit a backflip. Someone was recording it, posted it on TikTok, and it became super viral,” said Biology Teacher Justin Nguyen.

3.) Movie Nights – High school movie nights create the perfect combination of food, friends, and film. As we step into adulthood, we often long to live just one more day of our childhood. Movie nights during high school allow you to eat your favorite snacks, while enjoying a memorable movie with friends.

2.) First/Last Days of School – The first and last days of school are always filled with plenty of emotions. They provide great opportunities for new beginnings. The first and last days of school will always be the most bittersweet days of one’s high school career.

Fire Alarms – As crazy as it sounds, the many times students at UC High have set off the alarm, either as a prank or from suspicious activity in the bathrooms, have made an everlasting memory on the students. The alarm goes off very regularly, usually two times a week, and will forever be remembered.
