Mira Santos, Sports Editor

Sports Editor Mira Santos envisions an interactive sports page, that students can relate to, for this 2011-2012 school year.  She aspires to make the sports page more visually appealing and to also give recognition to the underappreciated teams at this school.  “I want more people to notice and read the sports page, not just the players on a team,” said Sophomore Mira Santos.

“Some of my favorite things to do in San Diego are watching sunrises and sunsets, snorkeling at La Jolla Cove, hiking in the desert, taking my dog to the park and eating delicious fish tacos at various local restaurants,” said Santos. “However, during the school year, most of my free time is spent reading, daydreaming or catching up on much-needed sleep.” In fact, the last novel she has read since the publishing of this biography is The Age of Dreaming by Nina Revoyr.

According to Santos, her favorite magazine is National Geographic. She has reportedly collected eight of their posters, which are now on display in her room. “As a Filipino immigrant, I love immersing myself in new cultures and exploring foreign places, everywhere from my local canyon to remote islands in the Philippines.” Santos is a member of the UCHS Color Guard and it is a huge influence on her life.

For those looking for Santos, or who have inquires or comments about the sports page, please feel free to comment on any of her articles.
