Versatile, agile, and gifted are just a few words that could easily describe 6-foot-4 inch tall Senior Tim Patrick and his incredible standout year within sports. He is one of the few male athletes that played in three sports and outshined his peers in each of them. Patrick played varsity football, where he won the overall MVP award, under Head Coach John Hutsel. Patrick played varsity basketball, where he also won the overall MVP award, under Head Coach Terry Stonebreaker. Then he began to challenge himself with participating in track, where he held terrific times.
“It’s an honor to know that the school notices the things I do for all three sports,” said Patrick. He also said, “I would like to thank the coaches for them taking time to develop my skills into the athlete I am today. And most importantly, I would like to thank my parents, because none of this would be possible without them,” said Patrick.
Like some of the other standouts recognized this year, Patrick’s senior year was his motivation. “Seeing how the seniors went out last year, I didn’t want to go out like they did in sports,” said Patrick. Patrick decided to use teamwork in order to have better performances, which translated into more memorable games. “My most memorable game was when we played St. Augustine in basketball in the Semi Finals. I ended up with 18 points, 11 rebounds, 3 blocks, 3 steals, and an unforgettable dunk,” said Patrick.
Patrick’s biggest accomplishment came when he helped the team become CIF Champions for basketball. “Since this was the first CIF win our school had in basketball, I felt like I helped the team make history,” said Patrick.
After high school, Patrick hopes to become a walk-on for basketball or football for either San Diego State or Arizona State. “Going to San Diego State or Arizona State to play a sport is my dream. No matter where I go, I plan to be successful and to keep playing sports,” said Patrick.
No matter where the future lies for Senior Tim Patrick, he will never forget the people that meant so much to him in his various sports. “I want to give a shout out to the starting five of this year’s basketball team, and also J. Smash, Log-nasty, and Sharghi. I’m going to mis
