Top Ten High School Bucket List

Kennedy Wilson, Editor-in-Chief

Four years goes by quicker than you might imagine. Here are a few things that every teen should do (or at least likely will do) while in high school.

10. Pull a Prank- Good old-fashioned teenager shenanigans.  I mean, if all the adults are expecting you to be a screw-up, you might as well have a little fun!
9. Learn to Drive- Just make sure to wear a seatbelt, or helmet or layer of pillows.  It’s not too difficult; it’s as easy as driving uh… well, a car.
8. Go to a School Event- So what if you hate everyone? Or hate football? Or hate dancing? You’re only a high schooler once, so you should just give it a try. For one night, just scream at a bunch of boys in your math class wearing tights or dance like a fool with half the student body.
7. Get a Job- Eew, responsibilities. It’s time to face the fact that you’re not just a kid anymore, and you’ll probably need to start saving up for a new car or college…college? I have to worry about that, too?
6. Cheat on a Test- I mean, you don’t have to, but you probably will.  Even if it’s on accident. I was just stretching and happened to see her answer was B; it wasn’t really cheating.
5. Go to a Concert with Your Friends- Local bands, rock concerts or even just small shows; nothing makes you feel young and foolish like screaming lyrics that you think are right with a bunch of strangers and your closest friends.
4. Think Your Life is Totally Over- This is the worst day ever! My life is totally, totally, totally over… On second thought, it was just a stupid fight.  I’m sure I’ll be fine.
3. Mess Up- Crash your car?  Fail a test?  Get grounded for a month?  It’s all part of the learning process, right?  One day, you’ll probably look back on it all and laugh… Just not today.
2. Ditch a Class- Or maybe two… Even three?  You know, maybe we don’t have to keep count; the point is that you’re somewhere other than where you’re supposed to be. Can’t we just blame it on senioritis? Or freshmanitis? I swear it’s real.
1. Something You Can’t Tell Your Future Kids About- I bet your parents did a few things you don’t know about. After all, Friday nights aren’t meant to be spent sitting at home. Wait, you did what? What time was this, again?
